Can anyone help me with this? I need the wiring information for a 2002 Cadillac Infotainment head unit.

I have a 2001 Cadillac DHS with a factory navigation system. However, the system is CD based (with CD changer in trunk) and the CD maps are quite outdated. I acquired a newer version of CDs but discovered that they could not be read by the old unit and my cadillac dealer advised there is now way to upgrade the system to read the new CDs.

I then purchased an OEM navigation head unit (on eBay) that came out of a 2002 Cadillac Deville that reads DVDs (instead of CDs) and the DVD player is in the head unit -- not in the trunk like the CD unit. It also has a larger screen than my current unit. I was SOOOO excited about my new unit. Then, however, my dealer advised me that I could not 'swap' the units inspite of the fact they are both GM/Cadillac units. I have tried several other sources and so far all have advised the swap is impossible. I AM NOT TRYING TO REPLACE MY CADILLAC UNIT WITH A FORD (OR OTHER MFR) UNIT. I did find an installer who was willing to try to do the swap, but he said the 'plug' did not quite match and he did not have the wiring diagram for the new unit and did not want to try until he did.

Here are links to manuals for new and (current units which includes photos so you can see differences:

Current: http://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2content/manual/US/en/cadillac/2001cadillac_navigation.pdf

Can anyone help me with this?

The 2002 radio despite being a GM radio will NOT work in your 2001 car. The radio is controlled via the car's data bus system and you can't substitute any other radio. Even if you changed the entire stereo system it still wouldn't work. The radios on most newer Cadillacs aren't interchangable. Don't waste your time and money trying the impossible. Every GM car nowadays has only one radio that will work in it. They might look alike but if it's not the correct part number it won't work. Trying to hook up the other radio could even damage other modules in the car. Your dealer was telling the truth.
