I use a set of 7" woofers in sealed enclosures in my kick panels and it helps wioth mid-bass immensely.  What are "PA" woofers?

I think what you are talking about by "pa" is public address speakers which are usually what people use in alot of  soundstage music reproduction (concert) speakers. Usually these speakers are paper surround with little excursion which does limit the low end capability slightly, but being an 8" your not trying to put out much bass anyway.Best advice i can give you is to try them and see if they are to your liking.

Well, if he does mean public address speakers, then my advice is to not use them in a car.  Get a set of 8" car audio woofers.  Or even 6.5".  "PA" as in public address speakers are intended for long-throw applications and a car the installation is closer to near-field.  Which means it will sound like crap.

I was hoping that by "PA" he meant Planet Audio, and then my response would be GO FOR IT!  :)

If you mean nice by how loud it is you'd be right ,but there is more to sound such as staging than pure spl's. most stage amps have an open backed cabinet which gives it more db's plus multiple speakers will also give you alot more sound.
