hey all,

im a new memberto the boards, seems like you guys are extrmely helpful.

anway i was driving along yesterday when my subs cut out, no noise from them at all, i opened my trunk and looed at my amp, the power light is still on but the "offset" light is red and lit up, it seems like my connections are all good and both the fuse to in the amp and the inline fuse from my battery is good too.  Im so confused can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?  thank you

"Offset," eh?  Must be a Jensen amplifier.  This is telling you the amp is in protection mode.  I believe this LED is supposed to indicate low voltage on the supply side, but I could be wrong.  In any case, it is in protection.  What is hooked up to it?  What's the impedence load on the amp?

In general when you post, it is very helpful and saves time if you list the makes/models of the equipment in question.  Thanks.

disconnet the subs from the amp, and then turn the car back on, the amp should go back to normal.  If it does not, then you fried your amp, but don't worrie, your definately not the first, and not the last!

But lets just hope its just a wire shorting out.

If the amp goes back to normal after the subs are disconnected, then one of your subs may be blown, or the tinsle leads may be touching each other.

Test each voice coil on each sub by hooking it up to the amp on its own.  If you have a blown voice coil it will trip your amp back into protection mode.
