Hey everyone!

I just bought a Stinger SP1700 battery from my buddy Trail at www.Darvex.com

(Fits right in my factory Mercedes battery tray) and it is AWESOME! I am using it as my primary and only battery.  I have plenty of power from my beefed alternator but my 100amp benz battery would not discharge and recharge fast enough to keep up. It would stay completely charged, but you could not even think about turning system on without the car running. If you did, the voltage would instantly drop and my low voltage buzzers would start going off and shutting everything down. It would kill the battery if you tried to listen to even half a song with car off. But it takes a lot of juice just to have that much 1/0ga power wire hooked up! And my capacitor was helping my factory battery like a crutch.

The SP 1700 is freakin ridiculous! I dont not plan on running it down into its deep cycle, but you can many times with no problems. Check out the specs at the website for life cycle chart. Trail says that he has sold many people use the SP 1000 as their primary and only battery with nothing but great results.

THANKS TRAIL!!!!  Stinger SP 1700 Battery -- posted image.

yep! ...mebbe hiz battery needed replacing ANYWAY! ya think?
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I am not a newbie and deserve some respect.  Many people on here let others know when they try something and pleased with the results. And many others let us know when equipment is garbage. Which Is great.

FYI - My Mercedes battery was brand new, fully charged, load tested and would work better than great in anyone's car WITHOUT a monster sound system. It's the largest capacity battery that Mercedes makes for any class vehicle.

The point was that if I wanted to go to say the Drive Inn and watch a movie with my car not running, It would be impossible for the  MB or most any regular battery to do with my high current demand. I tried an Optima and they are just a better "regular" battery to me with "wooptie doo" spiral technology so it looks like a case for a 6 pack of beer.

I am Highly Recommending stinger SP2 batteries to everyone I know who is SERIOUS about their AUTO SOUND and likes to drive. Of course show cars need banks of batteries, but I put major mileage on my ride on the weekends BEATING OUT to my favorite music and do not need multi batteries thanks to stinger SP1700

And as far as Spam goes, I am no way related to anyone at Darvex.com. I do buy all of my wiring from them because they are COOLStinger SP 1700 Battery -- posted image.
