I'm helping a friend with this. She has the JBL premium sound package. Everything works fine excpet the sub. It makes no sound at all, even with the bass control on the head-unit all the way up. I was going to take a look at it (and the factory amp right next to it) but I could not figure out how to get to it. The grill looks like its removable but I dont believe you can remove it without doing damage to it also. Could some one please give me instructions on how to get to it? Also has anyone had their factory sub just stop working totally?

Also i'd like to know the size of the sub. I think it is a 6.5" but I could be wrong.

to get to sub and amp you need to remove entire rear interior side panel, like this:

1)  pull up carpet & remove screws securing base of panel to floor

2) remove the 9 plastic push in fasteners

3) remove cover for upper rear seatbelt mount and remove torx bolt there

4) now just pull out the entire trim panel and you access to both

Also you should check out crutchfield.com for cool custom enclosures to mount in same location, take

one 10 and look factory.  they have mtx models w/ sub and w/ sub and amp, and q-form(i think) models w/

no speaker so you can use one you choose.   factory sub is odd size i think 7-1/4 inch.

You may need to unbolt the seatbelt tensioner as well to remove it.......and watch how it comes out, cuz it never goes in the same way!
