Subwoofer Install

I just brought a couple of Eclipse 87121.8   12"  subwoofers for my 94 Civic.  I was wondering if I could get away with using just one of the in a boxand use the other in my Cherokee.  If so,  what type box would give me more bass response and DBs?  Would I need a lot of power from my amp?

These subs work best in a sealed box, if I remember right it is about 1.5 cu.ft. They are a 2001 model subwoofer. Being that they are 8 ohm you will need a larger than normal amp if you are going to split them up and use one in each vehicle.  I would not look for any amazing db output from these subs, especially being 8 ohm subs. If I remember correct they can handle about 250 w rms. Thus you will need an amp double this size to drive the 8 ohm version properly without risk of clipping the amplifier while trying to get as much sound as you can out of the sub.
