Hi, I recently installed a cd player in my 1991 Cadillac Deville (sedan). I must have done something while installing it because when I was sliding the new radio in the compartment all my instrument ligths cutt-off. Also the A/C doesent work. I have checked all fuses under the dash and hood and they are all good.  Anyone know what could be the problem? relays? I messed something up -- posted image.

Did you make sure that all your wires in the back were tapped up good and that there were no power wires grounding out? Sounds like you may have damaged your BCM or blew a fuse under the hood. Check the hood for blown fuses and see what you come up with.

LIke Jeff says, you probably forgot to tape up either the orange or the ORANGE / white illumination wires in your wire harness adapter.  This'll definitely blow a fuse or two if the wires are touched against ground.  But your new radio is still working properly, right?

Go back and re-check the parking light and dash illumination fuses.

Sounds like a control module. Not a good thing to blow.

Body Control Module.  Basically controls all the stuff inside your car (lights, radio, locks...)

Try replacing all the fuses even if they don't seem to be blown.. Sometimes its hard to tell visually.  Also try uninstalling the stereo.. If this solves your problem then it may be some type of grounding problem... dont use the factory ground that your factory unit used.. If your replacement pulls very much more juice then the ground may not handle it, causing problems.  Try pulling out your console and checking the conection, you may have broke something loose durring the install...

Well I took it to a guy and he said it was the BCU. He replaced it for 85 bucks!!! I got sooo lucky and everything works fine again. Now the problem is what went wrong when I put in the cd player? I told him to check it out and to install it himself. Basically everything is done and im sure all the wires are correct but i want him to do it.  Thanks guys!I messed something up -- posted image.
