Use a harness and eliminate the guess work.  The color code are the same as the older GM's except your vehicle doesn't have a 12V switched wire in the harness, you will have to catch that one in the main harness or from the fuse box

You can catch the brown wire in the main ignition harness, or find a fuse in the fuse box that only has power when the ignition is on.   The cruise control fuse is a good one.  If you catch a fuse, either catch the side that isn't powered or run another fuse in line.

look to the right of your gas pedal and you will see large wire loom.  It's in there.

If you look under the dash there is a large harness covered in black tubing knowen as loom. If you cut the tape off the loom and pull it away yo will see a large bundle of wires. You can use either the large orange wire or one of the large pink wires. Both are fine to use for swithed power. Make sure you use a fuse in line so if you ever short the wire out it blows the fuse and not travel through the car. If you dont understand anything I just told you then you may wanna look into getting a pro involved. Its not a bash, its what I tell everyone who says they are new and is asking for help in wiring.

Like I said, loom is what the black, ribbed tubbing covering the wires is called. The harness I am talking about is very close to the drivers side kick panel. It also has a yellow connector taped to it that has wires covered in a yellow tube comming off the connecter. That is the air bag wires, untape the connector but do not disconnect the connector and DO NOT CUT INTO THE YELLOW TUBING, dont want you to accidentily set the air bags off.
