Sup everyone, ok I'm a noob when it comes to car audio, but I know enough to hold my own given a wiring diagram a soldering iron.

Here is the precursor to my problem/question:

My car is a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 with Premium sound system.
I just picked up some inexpensive gear to add onto the system:
2x 8" subs in ported boxes
  1x 300w 2 channel amp
1x Ultra Linear UL907EQ graphic equalizer (with rca outs for front and rear L/R and subwoofer)

I have everything wired except for the equalizer (the amp gets power etc)

In terms of wiring for the eq it is as follows:

Q-Splice on the remote wire for the amp running to the remote wire on the EQ
Q-Splice on the Blue/Red power wire on the stock harness for the ford stereo system running to the 12v power wire for the eq (has an inline fuse)
Ground wire running from Eq to chassis

From here I'm kind of stumped because (I think in order to get the sound signal thru the EQ to the subs you need to hook up the high level inputs for the 4 speakers coming from the stereo) but when i consulted the Hayes manual it just has the "Typical stereo" wiring diagram and has no mention of the Premium variant of the ford stereo in that car... and there are several wires not on that diagram and multiples of ones that are, can someone help me out as how to proceed? or if this will even work piggy backed onto the stock stereo?

Any help is much appreciated

Peace Gabe

most eq's have a rca input as well, you would run your front/rear output from your deck to the imput on your eq then the sub out from the eq to your sub amp
