i have heard many people raving speakers like AUDAX...Dynavox....Vifa..Peerless..at parts express...alll these are home speakers rated at 8 ohms

i have a couple of questions..because i have never actually heard  a setup with these speakers...and if they are so great why dont we see them more commonly used in cars since they are so cheap..$20-100 per driver...

1)i heard these speakers loud...HOW loud exactly do they get ...and i would be using them for mids.. i would use a SUb for 80hz and below.

2)the power hadnling is like70 rms 90MAX on these speakers... does the power handling increase by using car amps such as hifonics RF etc...ive know people who gave each AUDAX like 100 rms off a HIFONICS..

3)the guy that  i know that uses AUDAX...he says to get them to play at 4ohm He bridges the channel an wires TWO AUDAX speakers on that one bridged channel in Series or parrael( dont remeber) and he got each speaker reciving 100rms of a HIFONICS AMP rated at 4x55rms @4ohm and 2x110rms @ 2ohm. so bascially he played 2 speakers on each bridges channel ona 4ch amp.. in all 4 AUdax 8"mids.................. is there any other way to get  these 8ohm  down to 4ohm and they are SVC..

4)which specs should i look out for in these types of speakers ( 8ohm audax, dynavox, peerless, vifa etc) which would perform best in a car application.... and if any personal experience which one brand of these drivers sound the best and/or gets the loudest....

5) whats specs can i look at to get an idea which speaker will get louder???....xmax mm???

here is a list of the speakers i have in mind:

Try a pair of 8 ohm mids in the car.  You'll not hear much of a volume difference from the same at 4 ohms.  When you see the great closeout deals and surplus buys that PartsExpress comes out with, it makes it easier to experiment a little to find out these things for yourself.  The one spec that will make the most difference as far as volume goes is efficiency (SPL) rated in db.

You have a few too many questions in your post to tackle comfortably.  Sorry.

I'll try my hand, stevdart! That Dynavox driver looks spectacular. Give it a shot, especially for the money.
Answers to your questions follow:
1) Depends on how much power you are going to throw at them.
2) No. 90 watts is 90 watts. If he was using a 100 watt per channel HiFonics amp, it was most likely 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. An 8 ohm load will only be 50 watts of output from the amplifier.
3) An 8 ohm speaker is an 8 ohm speaker. You can't "make it play at 4 ohms" If you parallel two 8 ohm drivers, your amp will "see" a net 4 ohms per channel, and if you bridge two channels to that 4 ohm load, the amp will "see" a net 2 ohms per channel - the impedance of the driver DOES NOT CHANGE, it is STILL an 8 ohm driver.
4) My personal experience aside (I have first hand experience with all of the manufacturers you linked to), whatever you like is what sounds best to you. We cannot make those decisions for you. Ideally, if you have 8 ohm drivers, and let's just say for example they are rated 100 watts, you need to start with an amp that is rated 200 watts at 4 ohms. To get the loudest, you start with the highest reference efficiency, and then look at the highest power handling capability.
BTW, the drivers you have chosen are NOT designed as "loud" speakers. The drivers you linked to are all pretty decent drivers as far as SQ is concerned. If you want loud, and that is all you want, go buy some RF Fanatics or some other POS like that. Those systems COMPLETELY forgo quality in favor of quantity AFAIAC.
5) See answer to number 4.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

so between dynavox audax and peerless...which ones are louder and sound better in YOUR OPINION...

the thing is is terms of loudeness.. the audax are 60rms but have SPL dB of 89.1 and the dynavox is 140 rms but 87.dB....

loud is not all i want.... still want good SQ.. but i have personal experiance with infinity kappas componets (not the perfects the 6 1/2 just below teh perfect line) 100rms.. gettin 100-1150 rms.. an  i would want something louder than that.... will the audax, dynavox, or peerless do this for me

They all sound great in the proper application and no, they are not designed to get "loud" like car audio speakers usually are.

So what are you planning on using for tweeters or crossovers?  Speaker selection isn't as important as crossover design in obtaining the best sound.  And crossover design really takes a lot of knowledge, experience, and expensive equipment to do right.

I forgot earlier, and I might add, look at the Extremis 6 from Adire. I saw them at CES, and they are AWESOME drivers.
Steven, empty your PM box... you're fullup!

It's on purpose.  I prefer people to e-mail me instead.  You can contact me at skephart@adireaudio.com.  I was hoping to talk to you about those speakers as you didn't hear what happened later on in the show.
