i have 2 10 alpine type-s subs in a sealed box and i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good amp to power them. im currently running an ancient 2-channel apline amp that i think is rated for 75wx2@4ohm and the amp is bridged and the subs are wired sub 1 - to sub 2 + and sub 1+ to amp and sub 2 - to amp and it seems to run fine but i was wondering if i could get something with a bit more power

i also have a kicker 120.2 amp that does not want to come out of protection mode even with nothing hooked up to it any answer would be greatly helpful

You could get a one-channel amp instead of the 2-channel that you have.  Rewire the SVC 4ohm subs to parallel for a 2 ohm load.  Power them to the extent that their combined RMS allows.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

equal to, more, or less 600rms. if you can afford it go with more so you can upgrade your subs in the future and not worry about getting a new amp. if moneys tight, a 500rms amp will do fine as the volume would be just about the same as if you had a 600. i wouldnt get anything less than 500rms though.

go get a kenwood excelon 811d. money tight this is about 235 ( locustaudio.com) run it at 2 ohms getting 919 turn the gains down get just what you want. then later if you decide you want more power this amp will do 1000 watts at 1 ohm easy
