I am looking for the best place to get switched 12V power source. I am installing a Pioneer XM add on.

Get it at the fuse box or att he ignition harness. The wire is PINK in color at the harness.

Personally, I would use the Brown wire at the ignition harness for the XM.  This way your xm will work when they key is in the accessory position and also with the retained accessory power.

Good thinking !! Getting so used to advising other people to use the PINK wire for a switched power that I caught myself being complacent.
