Just found out a disturbing glitch/feature on Alpine's new 9847. With the BBE on, the bass drops out at Least 3 to 6 db when the volume is pushed above level 23. I've put in 6 of these this week and they ALL reacted the same. Alpine says they know nothing about this. Problem? Or built in bass attinuation ala many OEM HU? Have any of you guys run into this yet? Did I get a whole box of glitched head units. Try this on your display boards. Let me know what you find. This is not a good thing. TCSS

I thought that this was normal for BBE. It is meant to help save speakers from their owners. Just like loud should not be used.

In all my years selling Alpine HU w/BBE I've never run into this before. The BBE on this HU has three levels, level #1 should not do any damage @ higher volumes.
