My dad recently just bought some used speakers and amp. Ive already tried them out, not in the car, and they sound fine. The only thing is that they are sony, and it is the old sony speakers. I know many people do not like sony at all. The max power of the amp is 1000 watts and the model number is XM-2165gtx. The speakers are 12" with the model number of XS-L1237. The car is a hatchback and Im not the one to crank the base all the way up, but enough to have a kick. The total price paid was 200 dollars. I want to know if it was worth it and will I be happy with them in my car?

Well, in my opinion Sony is crap, but, for what you paid fpr the set up and the fact that you don't listen to it loud, they might work for you. The only way that you will know this is to install them. If you are happy with the set-up, then all is good.

I always wonder why people come here looking for validation _after_ they've purchased something.

I would never buy a sony setup, but if you're happy, that's all that matters.  Try it out and see if you are.

OR, if you can still take them back, do that, save up another $150 or so, and buy something a little more reliable.

Well, i didn't have a say in buying it. My dad called me and told me he bought some speakers, but i will have to try them out and see. For 200 dollars though, i think its fine. Like i said before, im not looking for the best performance like one would get from high end speakers, just something to give my sound a little more kick. Thanks for your replys.
