Ok, I finally got the darn thing out but I wanted to follow up because even the last 2 writeups I posted did not explain it all fully so if you are finding this post, because you need to pull the radio for the code, here is how I did it.
First thing you need to do is remove the piece of the dash that has the lighter plug and pocket. It is held in using only clips (there are one at each corner, 4 in total). A good way to remove it us to insert your fingers of your right hand into the pocket palm up and stick your thumb in the lighter plug. Grip and it should pull straight out, it takes a bit of force (mine came out after a good yank). Get down low and you will see two screws towards the right side of the opening (there are 2, they are 8mm). Remove these so you can pull out the part of the dash that houses the radio and AC controls.
The next part was where I had trouble and the regular directions did not work, it says: "To remove this part of the dash, it is best to reach up inside the dash and find something to push this part out enough that you can get your fingers under it. It takes some force to push this out; it is connected with 5 clips. Once it is out, remove all the plugs, and remove the 3 screws that hold the climate controls in. Now you can remove the stock head unit and install your new one. "

Mine was in there good and no matter how hard I pushed from behind, it did not come off. What did work was to use a screwdriver to gently pry off the front of the dash (as you can see in the above pic, you pry where the bezel meets the actual dash). It is best to start at the top by the vents and work your way down each side to pop the clips. Be careful not to pry too hard and crack the bezel or leave an imprint on the dash. Ther are actually 7 clips, not 5....there are 3 across the very top, one on each side about 1/3 of the way down (ie 2 more), and finally one at each corner on the bottom (ie the final 2). This just gives you a good idea where to pry. Once all the clips are loosened, you can push from behind and the entire unit will slide out. There are about 5-6 (don't remember offhand) connectors you need to undo to fully seperate the unit and allow you to bring it over to a bench to work on. Once that is done, set it on the bench and remove the 3 rotary knobs (the climate controls) on the front by prying them off with a small screwdriver (they pop off pretty easliy). Now flip the unit back over and undo the 3 screws holding the climate controller to the bezel (be careful with these screws because they strip easily). Finally you can remove the 4 screws holding the head unit to the bracket and it will slide out from the front of the bezel. Now record the serial number for the deck and call up the Honda dealer and they should give you the code. Just reverse the process to put the dash back the way it was.
Hope this helps someone else.
