Powering 4,000 rms Amp

   Ok i have two 2,000rms audiobahn, totaling
4,000rms. My lights dim a LITTLE right now with 1,500rms + 2.4FARAD cap.
I realy can't (don't want to) my ALT in the car so how can i run 4000 watts fine. i was Thincking adding a battey and a 5.0FARAD cap will that work.
Some one plezz help or tell me were i can go for help . thanks.

Nope that aint gonna help you. THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT, that is run legit 4000 watts rms in a vehicle properly is to upgrade the altenator to a high output altenator. However being that you are under the impression that those audiobahn woofers are actually 2000 watts rms, I would like to know what you actually consider to be 4000 watts rms.

ok ya i'am just going by box specs there 2 A1500HCT if that helps any.
So the only thing i can do is change the ALT???????? theres only 1 option???

The only way you will be able to power 4,000 watts of amps power is with a HO alt. One that puts out at least 250 amps. You gotta have power to make power. As a side note, those audiobahn amps do not buy out the power they claim they do, you are looking at more like 2500W of power, not 4000.

Alternators make the power

Capacitors smooth the power

Batteries start the car

Ok, I'm kidding a little on the last one, but all three components are important.  Alternators provide the 14v or so that runs the car/electronics.. the capacitor is there to help smooth out the surges when the amps hit hard. The alternator can't change output quick enough to prevent a voltage drop.. so the cap helps supply the power required until the alternator catches up. The battery only comes into play when system voltage hits approximately 12.6v

hehe, check out Harbor Freight. You can get a 10kilowatt 120/240ac generator without the motor. Just connect it via an accessory belt and voila, ready for arc welding on the goPowering 4,000 rms Amp -- posted image. .
Seriously though, you'll need a high output alternator

Jim, I whole heartedly agree, the battery is for starting the car and nothing else, especially if using high powered audio gear, or anything that has a high current usage for that matter. Everything works better at 14.4 then 12......
Check all advice given with a meter
