Thought I saw a tread about an amp behind the glove box in this truck. Can't seem to search for it. Anyone know about this amp, how to access it and whether it can be used with a hi level input?

I personally have not done one of these but. the concensus is that it is behind the passenger side airbag and yes you can bypass the amp.

Don't want to bypass amp. Want to use it like in the older Dodge trucks.

Found the amp, behind the glove box. Also found that it's a data bus turn on and cannot be used with an after market HU. Metra 70-6510 is used to bypass.

Yep digital turn on. SoundGate is working on a peice to get the amp to come on when pulling the factory head unit, it will also do steering wheel controls.

God does this thing suck! One of my guys is upside down under the glove box doing one wire every 5 minutes with a crimper and needle nose. Make sure you charge LARGE dollars to do this truck.

Yeah I thought of that, but had to access the amp to determine wire colors. Running wires to both rear doors, the front doors and the dash tweeters seemed at the time would take longer, not knowing the wire colors. Once I had the thing apart I figured I'll do it at the amp. Now that I've got the colors and polarity I'll go to the kicks next time. And yeah, I'll post the colors when I'm done.
