I need a new amp to power my infinity 4x6's and I'm on the edge between eclipse and xtant. The two amps I am looking at have very similar specs, so I was just looking for some opinions/experiences from you guys to help me pick which brand I should go with.

I've only got one xtant shop anywhere near me, and they don't have the amp I am looking at. (A2002)

Either is a good choice. They are both in the same playing field. So price should now play a factor, imo.

However if you want an opinion that has no real basis on anything, I would choose the xtant, I just have more experience with them.

I'll second the Xtant. I have almost 7 years of good (ab)use out of my geriatric 3300ic, and I wouldn't get rid of it for anything (and we sell nice stuff). Simply the neatest "little" 300w 3ch I have ever seen (snicker snicker....)

Do you guys know if the Xtant A2002 has an external fuse? I am looking at pics of the amp and don't see a fuse anywhere.

It doesn't look like it, my mtx doesn't have an external fuse either and that is a Mitek brand amp too.

So if the amp gets too much power it is fried, or is there an internal fuse?

all you need to do is add an inline fuse.
