Where does the illumination wire on the harness hook up to?  I have the dimmer hooked up, but nowhere to hook up the illumination.

According to the wiring diagram, your vehicle should have an illumination wire, but not a dimmer wire.  You sure you got the right wires?  Just FYI it is very common for a vehicle to not have both dimmer and illumination wires.  Similarly, many times you'll have a car that has at least one of these wires, but the aftermarket radio you're installing doesn't have either one of the wires.  In this case, simply tape off the unused wire.

With everything hooked up right, my dash does not illuminate properly.  I have checked all the fuses and made sure that nothing is wrong.  What could cause this.  I saw somewhere on the internet that the illumination wire gets hooked up to a 12V source.  Is this correct and which 12V source (12V constant or 12V power)?

I found out why my illumation on my front dash wasn't working.  It turned out to be the Timing Control Unit.  Went to junkyard, pulled the TCU out of a Nissan Stanza and it works.
