hey had this head unit for a while now and everything works fine except on mp3 discs. it'll read some files then some songs it'll play through but no sound, or the player would hang and i wud have to press the "next track" button. normal cds work fine, and most mp3s work as well.

things i've checked:

1. file format - all mp3s

2. disc brand - i basically eliminated this one because if the hu was picky about discs it wouldn't just read some files and miss others right? if it was incompatible none of them would play.

suspicious of:

1. bit rate range - some files may be variable bit rate and if it skips out of the head units range would that mean that that file would be skipped?

2. faulty head unit? - possible but i've this happens to certain files not random. if a file doesn't play it never plays. files which work always work.

anyway i'm just trying to find an explanation or something coz i haven't been able to figure it out.

thanks

mike

Yes it does, should be a small button you can see if you take the faceplate off.

The reset button is on the faceplate- bottom right of the volume knob.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

oh yep.. the reset fixed the problem. i think in the manual it referred to something such as interference scrambling the micro computer inside causing playback to falter. and a reset is the solution.

anyway thanks for the help guys.
