I don't know if this is a stupid question but i would rather get other people's inputs on it before i test my theories out.  I would like to wire a dvd player i have with a cd player.  The Jenson dvd player and monitor can play cd's but I do not like how confusing and slow it is when it plays them so i am trying to just use it for dvd's.  The cd player i have is just a regular Pioneer cd player. Now is there a way to wire them so i can put a switch in my car to swap power from one to the other.  I know i could wire them into the ignition switch and just do it that way, but i am confussed on how all the speakers would be wired between the two.  I have four full range speakers in my civic and two subs powered by one amp.  Could i just use y-adapters on each of the speaker wires and they will go through the proper wires when one of the units is drawing power or would there be a problem. I don't exactly understand how i could wire them into a cd player and a dvd player so any input would be appreciated.

You can't wire the speaker outputs of both units together. This will damage both units. You would be better off just using one or the other unit. If you must use the DVD unit too, see if it has RCA outputs. If your Pioneer unit has the ability, possibly with an interface, send the RCA output of the Jenson DVD into the auxillary input of the Pioneer to play the DVD audio throught he system. The two units can share power and ground, but under no circumstances can their speaker wires be connected together, unless you have a huge switching system to isolate them.
