i am making a transmission line box, and i am not necessarily a beginner. i talked to an installer at my work( best buy) and he told me about basic theory and i picked some stuff up off the net. however, when i went to build it, i forgot if my line was to be measured in inches or feet in relativity to the Fs. i was told to make the line between 2/3 and 3/4 the legnth of the Fs, but i forgot. please help me.

In theory you want the length of the transmission line to be between 1/2 and 3/4 of the wavelength of Fs, but you can get away with making it physically smaller by stuffing it with a dampening material like polyfill, wool, etc. Here's a great resource on transmission line systems:  http://www.diysubwoofers.org/tls/ &   http://www.diysubwoofers.org/tls/tls1.htm
