Ok, serious objection to the claim that chopping off the OEM harness is a sign of an 'amature'. That's pretty preposterous and backwards. I think someone requiring a kiddie plug is the sign of an amature. Positive, negative, front, rear, antenna, ground etc? This is not rocket science. I could have done this at the age of 9. The idea of having a company like Pioneer attempt to charge someone for being too braindead to splice wires is ridiculous and disgusting. A simple plastic molex like connector should never cost as much as they charge. I say the price of stupidity and laziness is high. Learn to wire, save yourself the scam. It's so bloody simple if you aren't too lazy to think.

Sorry, but when I saw an earlier post accusing me of being an amature for simply being intelligent it just raised my hackles.

I can agree w/ you somewhat. It IS more difficult to not use an aftermarket harness,It requires a DMM, common sense , and a little time to make it work. On the other hand, its pretty stupid to not use an aftermarket harness if one is available for the vehicle...it saves alot of time, hassle, and also gives you the ability to return the car back to factory w/o a hitch.so you go ahead and dont use a harness, I will.  Also, alot of the assocation w/ cutting harnesses and being an amature is 90% of people who 'think' they can install a radio w/o the plug, hack it off and then figure out its a diffrent story and end up spending alot of time and money getting the work and repairs done by a professional, when it could have all been avoided under $20.
