Volume fluctuation in 05 Outlander

I have an 05 mitsu outlander.  This problem has been driving me crazy.  I have a brand new pioneer hu in the dash.  What is happening is the volume seems to get louder and quieter at will.  However, I seem to have made some connection to the speed at which I am traveling.  I am aware that some manufacturers have speed sensitive volume control, (ie. GM) all hought I was always under the impression that the auto matic adj lies within the factory hu.  I do not have the factory hu in there, and it still seems to do it.  Can anyone tell me if the 05 outlander has speed sen vol, and if so, if it lies somewhere else in the vehicle such a a factory amp, or is controlled by some wire in the harness.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I do a lot of city driving so this constant volume change from starting and stopping really make my system sound like junk

It's a function of your head unit.  Pioneer calls it something like a "Vehicle Dynamics Processor."  Read your owner's manual, it should tell you how to disable the feature.Support the12volt.com

Automatic Sound Levelizer...that must be what you were talking about.  I just read about it in my owners manual, and I do indeed have this feature turned on.  I will soon be turning it off...what a pain in the butt!!  Thanks so much for sparking my thought process on this one.  You rock!!~!!
