do I just buy 2 rca female y adapters. I have one rca output out of my deck. One side is red and the other white. So do i just plug each y adapter in, one to the red output and one to the red?

i meant one to the red and one to the white so that the female connection are left for 2 rca inputs

The Y adapter you want will have 1 male end, splitting into 2 female ends.

Yes, you will need 2 of these (1 for the right channel, 1 for the left).
