I am going to replace my XM factory unit in a Pioneer factory cobalt. The driver info system is in my speedo cluster, I have pulled the factory radio and everything still works fine. All driver info and driver controls (signals, lights etc) still work fine. In my eye all I only need is an accsry powered wire and a dash kit to perform this install of a Pioneer AVH5700DVD. Could you tell me if im wrong? Thanks, Josh

the driver information center and radio is one unit. removal of the radio willprohibit the vehicle owner from programming any of the features of the driver info center. however once the features are programed the vehicle will retain all settings. also all fo the factory warning chimes will no longer function. metra has a relocation harness 70-2103 that will keep the factory radio hooked up and keep the link in the data system or i have also just used this harness put the radio end behind the glovebox so incase any thing needs to be changed just temp plug in the factory . you will need METRA  99-3302 dash kit , and metra 40-gm10 antenna adapter

as for ign. power and the rest of the radio

Radio 12v RED / white  +  radio harness
Radio Ground BLACK/ white  -  radio harness
Radio Ignition (GMLAN Serial Data)

Power Antenna yellow  +  radio harness
LF Speaker +/- tan - gray  +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash
RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green  +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow  +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue  +,- radio harness or amp under driv dash

Accessory brown  +  ign harn or BCM, C4, pin C8
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is part of the fuse/relay box on the front passenger side of the center console. It has the following connectors: C1-72 pin gray plug, C2-72 pin gray plug, C3-41 pin red plug, and C4-68 pin lt. gray plug.

bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english

Just to add to this post for any future Canadians who search this post, you will not need the METRA 99-3302 dash kit for the Canadian edition Cobalts or Pursuits. Out Cobalts ( SS and non SS )& Pursuits do not have the information center installed on them.Scosche has a kit for the vehicles without the information center on them... just can't remember the part number right now.
