Missing power drop on 2003 Chevy Impala

The manual states that my vehicle comes equipped with an auxillary power drop to add aftermarket electronics to the system.  It is supposed to be located under the glove box on the passenger side.  I want to supply power to a cd changer through this but cannot find it.  I had the whole dashboard taken apart and there was nothing there that wasn't already going either through the firewall or up into the dash compartment with solid connections at the other end.  If for some reason I still cannot find it, or it just isn't there, what are my other options for powering my changer?

I have looked at that option, but when I had the panel off of the steering column there was alot of different wires/harnesses.  Is the ignition harness separate, or is there a way to differentiate it?  All I saw was alot of wires, and I already have the wiring setup by color from a different posting, but there were multiple wires of what looked to be the same color.

The auxiliary power connection is taped to a harness, behind the right side of the dash. It may be buried high up in the dash near a heater casing. It is black and has 2 pins in it. The yellow is accessory power and the orange is battery power. The black is ground and the purple is Class II data. If you can't find it, use the thick brown wire in the igntion harness for accessory power and either the red or RED / white for battery power. Make sure you install fuses on both lines near the ignition harness. It will be easier to get to the wires if you remove the steel knee bolster bracket under the steering coloum first. sparky
