i recently picked up a IP-Bus cable for my pioneer deh-p6400. it is supposed to connnect directly to any current generation ipod. the audio conection works fine, however, the cable also includes a power line(with a small fuse) and a ground wire... this allows the ipod to charge during use.  i connected the power to the switched 12v,  and the ground to the same ground the deck uses.... this worked fine for the first night, then the tiny fuse blew.  replaced the fuse and it blew a second time.....

what am i missing? should i use a constant 12v instead of the switched? run a separate ground? could i eliminate the fuse without damaging the ipod?

My vehicle is a 97 jeep grand cherokee w/ Infinity gold system, the only stock component left is the factory infinity amp....

any help is appreciated... Thanks!

Do not remove the fuse and this is what's protecting your adaptor from any potential short. The YELLOW wire is suppose to go to 12 volt constant and the ground i usually go to the frame of the vehicle. Normally the Jeeps have a grounding strap that is connected to the frame, you can use this for the ground.
