Need some help with a short how to on wiring up the following so I get the most out of it.

Mutant MT2004 -

4 channel power amp

intergrated high / lowpass filters (12/db 0ct.)

4 x 50w RMS @ 4 Ohms Stereo

4 x 70w RMS @ 2 Ohms Stereo

2 x 140 RMS @ 4 Ohms Bridged

Speakers:

2 x TSA6910 6x9's 330w 4 Ohms

1 x TSW305C sub 800w 4 Ohms.

I would like to know what the best way to wire these up to get the most out of them.

My head unit only has left&right (2 phono) outputs at the moment, I'm waiting on a spare part from Pioneer to enable more outputs.

Any assistance would be really helpful.

Anyone know how I should do this?

Should I maybe have a second amp (mono) for the sub rather than trying to split across the 4ch amp?

It's up to you. Does this car have any front speakers? If not, I'd probably figure out where you could put some first. Check with a local shop for some ideas. I don't like systems where all the sound comes from behind you.

If the 6 x 9's are rears, and you aren't going to add any front speakers, you can run them off two channels of the amp, and bridge the remaining two for the sub. If you do use 4 speakers, just power them all with the amp, and use another for the sub. You can get some splitters for the rca cables to connect your amp(s).

I have custom Pioneer 6x8's in all 4 doors, these are supplied by the head unit.

I have the amp listed above, plus 2 6x9's on the rear shelf.

Is it possible to connect up the sub & the 2 6x9's to this amp, and if so what's the best way to do it?

The amp get's it's single from the head unit pre-out

I now have the missing cable and in fact have pre-outs for all the speakers, however i only want to use the non fading subwoofer outputs.

Should I run a second rca cable from the rear output pre-outs?

would I be able to run rear speakers from this and the head unit still supply sound to the rear doors?

I can't really work this out as have never had a head unit with so many options.

I've never heard of your amp but sure, connect the head unit front RCA output to channels 1 and 2 and the sub RCA output to channels 3 and 4. You will need two sets of RCA cables. Wire the front speakers to the amp output channels 1 and 2 and bridge the sub across channels 3 and 4 of the amp. You will need some sort of crossover at least for the subwoofer signal. If the head unit has a subwoofer low-pass crossover, set it to about 100Hz. If not in the head, you'll want to use the amp channels 3 and 4 to be on LP at about 100Hz. Set the HP (high pass) amp crossover to 100Hz for cnannels 1 and 2. Leave the rear speakers connected to the HU amp. I suggest do not use the 6X9's at all.

So if I understand correctly I should only use the 4 6x8's and the sub.

I recently got the new cable for my headunit which includes the following pre-outs.

front left&right, Rear left&right, Subwoofer non fading output.

Currently I have the 4ch amp running in 2 channel mode, the sub is wired via RCA back to the subwoofer pre-outs and the bass is awsome.

The sound is very good however now that I have the remaining 2 6x9's on the rear shelf and un-used channels on my sub i'd like to hook these up also.

If I were to run another RCA from the Rear Left&Right outputs back to the spare channels on the sub, could I then hook up the 6x9's as well?

Would the 6x8's wired direct to the head unit stop working for the rear or will they work in tandem.

I know I should just go and test it but I really only want to run the RCA cables once as this requires the removal of most of the interior to do a proper job on it.

Any advice welcome, cheers
