I'm trying to hook my new Pioneer deck up to my 96 Pontiac Sunfire.  I've got the wire diagrams for both the Pioneer's proper wires and the Sunfire's wires and matched them up.  However, I can't get the deck to turn on, plus I'm left with the Illumination and Dimmer wires in the car just dangling.  Do I need to put these wires some where to make it all work?  This is my first time installing a deck and could really use the help.

Dose your deck have connections for Illumination and or Dimmer? Some don’t, if yours doesn’t then just tape them up and stash them somewhere behind the dash As far as the power goes here is the wiring diagram for your car https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1996&make=Pontiac&model=Sunfire&ID=18808&type=Stereo

And here is what the colors on the back of your deck should look like https://www.the12volt.com/request/request2.asp
Double check to make sure all your wires are connected to the right place and that they have a good connection. If all your connections are correct then you will need to get a voltage meter and verify you are getting power. If you’re getting power but it doesn’t turn on check the fusses on the head unit. If you’re not getting power check the fuses in your cars fuse box, you may have blown one of them during the install. If you still have problems let us know and we will further assist you.
