Once again I have  confused myself... Ok i have a pair of 4ohm DVC subs and a mono amp.  Problem is, i have 2 separate boxes.  I want to wire in parallel to give me a 1ohm load.  can i just wire each sub in each box parallel, and have 2 sets of wires coming out of the speaker out? or do i need to run wires from sub 1 into sub 2?

Probably doesn't make alot of sense to many people, but If it is confusing to understand my question I can try to word it differently.

It's not confusing.  Parallel wiring can be accomplished EITHER at the subs or at the amplifier terminals.  Think of it this way:  ALL connections of like polarity are parallel-wired.  If two coils both connect to the same amp terminal they are parallel wired just as much as if they were connected together at the coils.

The fact is, many mono amps have two sets of terminals for precisely the reason you describe here.  If your amp has these dual terminals, use one for box 1 and the other for box 2.  That will parallel them.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
