I have been looking around at R/Ss for motorcycles, I'm under the impression the clutch must be squeezed in order to start the bike (at least when sitting on it with the key, etc).... is this bypassed somehow with a R/S unit?  Also, would I just need to constantly leave the kill switch in the "on" position to allow the engine to run when started?  I know there's not a lot of posts about motorcycles on here, so I appologize, and there's not a lot of information scattered on the internet either... I've had great success here for information.

Its pretty simple to do, just run a ground when running or ground when crank wire to the clutch switch to bypass it, You should always leave the kill switch in the on position...

Thanks a bunch, I figured it'd be as simple a concept as that.  I'm not sure I'm going to do it, but I'm shopping around for something that will crank a 850cc, most inexpensive stuff out there is for 300cc and lower.

I usually don't shut down the bike with the kill switch, just turn off the ignition. I would suggest grabbing a feed off the neutral light to make sure it doesn't crank in gear... I don't know if the RS kit would check for that or not, but it would be a bad day to have one try to fire while in gear.

i just wired an ebay cheap alarm on a kawasaki zr 750 .... apart from the difficulty which i posted in another thread, it worked perfectly well, and remote starting (in my case its been rotating the starter and swicthing on ACC only - no spark)
Its a bit of a tricky job if you ve never installed one on a car, but if you have a wiring diagram of the bike and some good planning, you should get the job done in a matter of few hours.
The ignition switch must be left on, depending on the type of alarm.
Regarding switching on the bike not in neutral, depends if the bike has that feature. The kawasaki zr 7 and also my hornet both have side stand switches and do not let you start engine when a gear is engaged. This functions works also with the alarm. If your bike does not have this safety feature you must work with the neutral light signal, and possibly also adding this feature not only for remote starting.
