I am installing an Astra RS in my 03 Altima using an Omega IB-N2 bypass. The car turns over but will not start. It still starts with the key though so I'm thinkin it's a bypass problem.  I have it hooked up to the transponder wires like it says.  My car has the Pathfinder transponder plug.  I am pretty sure my transponder is hooked up correctly and I believe my RS is hooked up correct. I have my starter out wire going to the larger RED / black, ign1 out going to smaller RED / black, acc. out going to WHITE/ blue, and ign. 2 out going to red.  My bypass calls for a - ignition input from the RS unit so I have it spliced into the ign1 out before the relay and it is getting a - voltage when cranking. Please help before I pull all the hair I have left out.

use the ignition wire after the relay. the relay will have a diode on the coil to prevent that voltage spike. also just to mention, the car has 2 starter wires.

starter 1 - BLACK/ red (12 gauge)

starter 2 - BLACK / YELLOW (cold start wire)

the starter 2 allows the car to start during really cold days. you can use one starter wire now, but when it gets cold enough, it just might not start. so if you want to wire up another start, heres how.

relay terminal setup for second starter

85 - ground out while running from remote start

86 - start wire (+) from remote start [splice into first start wire]
70 - high current 12volt constant
30 - to second start wire on car (BLACK / YELLOW)

to determine if its a bypass problem, keep the bypass connected and try to remote start. if that fails, disconnect power to bypass module, then place key into ignition (dont turn on, just place it in). try to remote start it. if it does start, you can bet for sure it is your bypass. from there, trace you wired and make sure you wired it up properly/securly.

good luck, and merry christmas !

I haven officially given up on this project. I have never quit anything in my life till now but this thing was a headache.  After spending hours on the phone with Skytek and not being able to come up with a solution, I figured I was better off leaving this car alone.  All of my RS wires (even both starter wires) had the right connection and voltages and the car still would not crank with the power to the transponder unplugged and the key in the ignition.  If anyone else has experienced this please give me peace of mind.

So if you start the car with the key and then push the r/s start button and remove the key, the car stays runnig correct? If not, then you have connection problems. If it does then you have bypass issues. Have never worked on a new Nissan so can't help with much else.

03 altima does not have intellikey pr push start, so install should be straight forward. scytek has good well decent you can say units, but tech is kinda crap.

Yeah I could start the car and then RS and it would continue to run when you turned it off. But it still would not RS with the key in the ignition and the power unplugged to the bypass. Doesnt make any since.

it might be a key sense issue. i think the remote start unit, the ignition is turned on befor the bypass so the car may assume its being tampered with. you might have to power keysense then power on ignition.
