hi all,this is my first post.i have a 89' honda crx si.for a few years ive had a autopage alarm.but about a month ago it stopped working.it had a kill switch so i just turned it off.im currently putting in a stero in my car and figure since im doing that i might as well put a new alarm in.i really like the alpine sec 8063.how difficult would this alarm be to install?should i even not attempt it or should i go for it?any advice would be greatly appreciated.thanks in advance

It will be as easy as pie. If there is already a unit in there you just need to solder your new connections to those. You could be in and out in less than 30 minuites if you were a pro. If you cant find a wire diagram for the alarm you haev in there, then get a wire diagram for your car, and all you will need to do is follow the wires from the old brain to the wire in your car and find out what wire that car does from the wire diagram and then hook up the output from the new alarm to the wire from the old alarm. Cut the wires from the old alarm off as close as you want to the old alarm brain so that you have enough wire to work with comfortably. I mean why break your back when you dont have to. Dont leave too much wire though or else ytou will end up with a mess under there. I would cut the wires on the new alarm short before the old one so that you are not soldering under neath the dash when you dont have to.

I solder everything. you dont have to of course, but if you want it to last and not burn your car down in a few years it is a good idea. Some people will disagree with me, but I just dont see why anyone wouldn't solder. it is just as fast if not faster than any other method. It lasts forever too.

this is probably going to sound stupid but you mean solder the wires together right?soldering is better than using say butt connectors?
