Trying to wire up remote start with tach sense on 08 silverado diesel. I have checked the 08 silverado posted here earlier but the diesel seems to have different wires. Any help in getting a wiring diagram or at least help on the "wait to start" wire -- tach wire?

this vehicle does not really have a "tach" wire that you can tie into. no diesel actually has a real tach wire by definition because there is no ignition system. on some of the older model diesel trucks though, there are certain wires you can tie into and program the unit to. this truck however is different. your going to have to use a different mode of engine monitoring, like "voltage sensing". for the wait to start light, use a DEI 528t pulse timer. they are completely adjustable and work great.

alot of starter have a wait to start timer that is programable

and i though the newer gms did need any glowplug run time anymore

that they heated as quick as you turned the key on

and last time i checked almost all gm have factory antigrind

so you just preset the crank time

i am an idiot

I am sure that there is a tach wire on those vehicles, there is a tach on the dash, if I am not mistaken.  However I have searched the internet and Audiovox's tech site, nothing on the net, and Audiovox tells us that it is at the ignition coil.  And you even have to select the powerplant to get to the info.  So according to Audiovox, if you can find an ignition coil, it is the white wire.

The glow plugs fire in a nano second. NO wait to start needed.

The tach can be found at the large harness from a blue/gray plug coming from drivers side top of engine.

lt.blue/black. it's a 2 cyl. reading.
