I am working on an install with an Audiovox/Prestige XRO9100 on a 2006 RAM Diesel. I have the CHDL7-PK2 bypass kit installed and I am a bit over my head with what I have read on this forum and what is included with the tech sheet. I cannot figure out if I need the relays or not. I was following this thread https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~84855~PN~0~TPN~1 and it seemed to indicate that I would not need any additional relays.

Is anyone familiar with my setup that can offer a little guidance?

No relays needed but resistors will be needed. Most remote starters have a good enough ground output that this will trigger the (-) resistance through ground that is needed by the Dodge to engage the parking lights and the door locks.

Thanks for the reply. The tech note I have seems to indicate that you are correct but it keeps reffering to a diagram and of course I do not have it. Would you have access to this?

IGNITION  Pink/white  Ignition switch harness  +

ACCESSORY  Violet/brown  Ignition switch harness  -

This wire uses ground with resistors to activate Accessory (560-ohm) and Second Start (150-ohm). See the provided diagram for wiring instructions.

STARTER  GREEN/ YELLOW  Ignition switch harness  +

STARTER 2  Violet/brown  Ignition switch harness  -

This wire uses ground with resistors to activate Accessory (560-ohm) and Second Start (150-ohm). See the provided diagram for wiring instructions.

KEY SENSE  Violet/brown  Ignition switch harness

Violet/brown goes to pin C4-13 of instrument cluster unit; WHITE/ orange return wire is found at pin C3-11

I'm in need of Diesel "wait to start" info. Tech sheet refers to  Directfax document 1091, does anyone have this info?

Thanks!

You don't need a wait to start wire for that remote start unit.

In the remote start selectable features menu, you have to program it for a diesel vehicle.  Its the 11th feature in that menu.  You can then choose the delay that you want.  10, 15, or 20 seconds.  This allows the plugs to warm up and then start when the time delay has expired!

The alarm system appears to be just great but I cannot get the remot start to work. I even attempted to put a key in the ignition to see if it may be the bypass but it still does not work. When I try to start it from the 2-way transmitter, it comes back right away and say remote start shutdown.

Normal start with a key is fine.

Any ideas?

For those that asked for this I thought I would post a couple better images of the wiring diagram

XRO9100 Schematic; http://www.iscg.net/dave/images/new-xro9000-wiring.jpg

CHDL7PK2 schematic with my chicken scratch; http://www.iscg.net/dave/images/CHDL7-PK2-bypass.jpg

Finnaly, I'm still at a loss on whether or not I need relays, dont have any or I would give it a wurl, the local radio shack only had SPST but I'm wondering if I need this?;  http://www.iscg.net/dave/images/dodgeremotestart.pdf

I finally had a chance to finish this up over the weekend and here is what my problems were;

I know that this has been stated before but there are 2 violet/brown wires in the ignition harness and I found the wrong one.  Secondly, the bypass unit MUX did not work for me and I ended up using the relays that I ordered. This seems to be a hit or miss with many other posters in this forum which confuses the matter even worse. I used the diagram in the link above and everything works like a charm now.

I would like to switch the defrost button on so if anyone has any values for this I sure would be grateful.

Thanks!
