I have a 1998 Ford Expedition.  I had a Viper 350HV installed a few years ago.  The alarm was disconnected (the red - constant power) for about a year and a half.  Just recently i have hooked it back up and the alarm appears to work, i just can not get it to respond to either of the remotes.  ive changed batteries in the remotes, tried to re-learn the remotes (that didn't work either) im slowly running out of ideas.

im thinking the alarm is still good because i can put it in and out of valet mode using the valet switch and ignition.

When ever this rain stops i plan on pulling the dash apart and making sure everything is connected correctly to the module.

Any thoughts or ideas?

ok there are a few things you need to check first, make sure the brain of the alarm is not locked by the bitwriter otherwise relearning the remotes won't work, check ur antenna connectionns at both points, brain and at the antenna, make sure ur door trigger wire is connected or again the relearn process will fail, if all is well it can be one of three things, faulty antenna, or broken antenna wire, i've encounterd a few, or most likely ur remotes have gone out of sync with the unit, after such a long period it's the most probable fault, p.s. i see it everyday.
