adding remote starting to alpine sec 150r

Hello,

I would like to add Remote Starting to my 1999 GMC, K-1500 (4X4) Suburban (with Passlock II) that already has a fully functional Alpine SEC-150R alarm system on it.

When I bought the Alpine system (years ago), I recall being told that a Remote Starting Module was available that could be added.  Unfortunately, I cannot find such a module anywhere.

Is there a workable solution that can add this function (& others) to my present system?  When contemplating the possibilities it would be good for the group to know that I want to avoid using anything more than one single remote to control all functions.

Thanks for the reply.  Sorry it took me so long to get back to you but work...

Yes, the Alpine does have auxilary outputs.  In fact there are three that aren't being used.

As far as distance is concerned, this alarm is pretty good.  100 yards or so.  I can arm/disarm it from inside the house, from across the street, even from inside my business office.

All that said, save for the need to use use relay(s) to interrupt the Alpine's shock sensor, I might think it a good enough system to go for the modification.  What do you think?

If you were to go mod, which remote starter kit would you use/recommend?

If you were to go full rip and reinstall, which alarm/starter combo would you use/recommend?
