I had a remote starter installed on my fiancees 05 grand cherokee for christmas.  When we start the vehicle the hazards stay on until you put the key in and press the brake.  I know the wiring says this is the way to hook it up but this just doesnt seem right.  Is there any way to fix this?

Directed's info says to use the hazards, as the (+) switched wire rests at ground and the light switch itself controls via CAN bus.
However, with proper testing you could probably connect directly to the control leg of the parking light relay. To locate this you'd have to first locate the relay in one of the fuseboxes, then test terminals 85 and 86 (one of them will stay constant with the lights switched on, the other will go to ground or 12V when the switch is activated).
