Please help if you can. I have a Ford F250 8v Diesel and my turn signals are not working and when I turn the headlights on the truck cuts off. Could this be the Remote Anti-Theft Module and if it is is it located in the dash board behind the radio? Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? I have just replaced both batteries in truck also.

The unit SHOULD have nothing to do with the vehicle's normal running. I suspect an alternator problem. Have you been getting flat batteries? As for location your guess is as good as mine. It might help if you told us what alarm R/S was installed, by the way whats a remote anti theft module? Do you mean an alarm? The only circumstance would be a feedback from the lighting system affecting the unit's immobiliser but that would normally be breaking the starter not the ignition. How about having it's fuses removed and then see what happens? Do you get this problem if you turn on heater A/C? My leanings are towards a vehicle rather than alarm induce problem.

Thank you for your reply, I am told now that it could be the vehicle security modular causing this. I beginning to think they are not sure what is wrong with it. I have also checked all fuses. I have not had any trouble with the batteries until now. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help

I'd doubt it. I'd like to know what this module is they're talking about.

Is it a Super Duty? If it's a diesel, it must be, right?

The light-duty Ford pickup has an anti-theft immobilizer key, although it has no alarm system of any kind. The truck just won't start without a valid key, that's all.

And on that light-duty, the immobilizer system only comes into play at start-up. Once it's running, it should stay running.

And the Super Duty has no theft protection of any kind. No security system, and no immobilizer key.

you havnent mentioned the year? have you had this since new, or purchased used? if used i can tell you now its an aftermarket installed product problem most likely. super's dont have any type of factory security.

when you say cuts off, do you mean the engine dies? thats strange because being that its a diesel, once running it doesnt need voltage from an ignition system to keep running, it doesnt even have an ignition system, it just "diesels". the engine shuts off by cutting the fuel supply to the engine, not power.

the truck is a 2006 super duty v8 diesel. Anyway, the Ford place hooked the truck up to this machine for about 2 hours and said that the machine was telling him that it is this vechicle security modular, whatever this is? I looked at the book on this truck and just cannot see how it could be something like this. What do you think? Thanks for your help

i think you need to find another Ford dealership to take your truck to.
