me identify my security system

I purchased an 05 Scion Xb about 6 months ago, and it came with some kind of tracking/security system. I now think it comes with some type of immobilizer/starter-kill, because the it is now hard to start the car in the morning. When I put the vehicle into the on position, the engine does not turn, but everything else electrical powers up. It takes a few minutes of trying to start the car before the engine actually starts. I'm not too familiar with security systems, but the only two pieces of identification for the security system is a sticker on the car window which says "Tracker Vechicle Security System WARNING Parts traceable by Law Enforcement". There is also a little key chain device that says "Identity" on it, with the picture of a finger print. I've included the pictures below. Any help appreciated!

I've tried google searching for "tracker security sytem" "tracker car alarm" but it keeps giving me results about the GPS car tracking system in the UK. I'm 99.99% sure this is not that system :-)

Chances are , the identity system is failing. The identity is a system on it's own. It's a fancy starter kill. If there is a tracking device in the vehicle, it would be a completely seperate piece. Have you tried replacing the battery on the transmitter. Those things are notorius for draining batteries. Basically all identity is a relay with antenna ( it generally replaces the factory starter relay , usually in the main fusebox under the hood) if the relay does not get a good Rf signal from the remote, it will not deactivate the starter kill. If it were my car, I would get rid of the thing completely. I don't know how many customers with this system, that I've had to go rescue because they couldn't get their car started.

yes, what mikvot said. I had to look at those because of a customer (and a Chevrolet dealer) who was blaming the remote starter for their car not starting all the time. Here's what I remember from the instructions: If the battery in that little keychain transmitter gets weak, the car may not start. Press on the keychain transmitter while trying to start the car. I presume pressing that thing somehow increases its transmitting power, but the manual doesn't really explain it much. So anyway, if the car always starts while you're pressing on that thing, then you know its battery is weak, and you should replace it soon. On the other hand, if a new battery doesn't help and you think the system is defective, you could always remove it. Open the fuse box under the hood, and you will see an assortment of fuses and relays. One of the relays (should ba labeled "starter" on the fuse box cover) will look non-original, and have a little piece of wire (the antenna) coming from it. Just remove that relay, insert a regular one (buy at dealer or junkyard), and the system is gone.

Thanks for all the help. I changed the battery in the id keychain, and no more problem. Hopefully, I'll get around to removing the thing.
