OEM trunk popper 98 keyless in 95 jetta

I need to know how to make the trunk pop button on the remote work. I retrofitted this keyless/alarm module into my '95 Jetta GL and it locks/unlocks/arms/disarms but I can't use the trunk pop button. I'm confused!

Trunk Release GRAY (+) UNDER REAR SEAT-DRIVER SIDE #231 its a positive trunk release. what type of output do you have on your alarm???? if you have a neg output, you have to wire it up like this..... pin 86 and 87 12v fused 30 to trunk release wire (gray) pin 85 is the rlease wire coming from the alarm/keyless unit. get back with me and let me know what you have... How do I find out if it's negative or positive output?? Also what size fuse should I use on pins 86 and 87?? Also dumb question: assuming you're referring to pins 86, 87, 30 and 85.....I'll be using a relay?

do you have wiring info with your unit?? you said that the locks are working?? and do you have a trunk button on your transmitter?? do you have wire left over that you didnt hook up? if so put a meter on one of the left over wires. use your red lead on the left over wire. and then press the trunk release button on the transmitter. see if it reads 12v just for a second. keep doing this to see if you can find the wire. if you probe a wire and it has 12v, see if it will loses 12v then the trunk button is pushed. if it does, double check the wire by using the lock/unlock button to make sure you have the right wire. it would be really easy if you could get your hands on the wiring info. it will just take time to figure out the wires without that info. you should be able to do it. by the way dont worry about the typing, i was trying to type fast. dont count the typos. In your first reply you mentioned positive or negative output. So I went by the dealer and found out that the output wire puts out a positive voltage...or it sounded that way from his statement of...."that wire is always hot."

None came with it. It's a "retrofit" from a '98 Jetta GL into my '95 Jetta GL. They are backwards compatible...but it seems the trunk portion isn't....

Yes, it does......

Actually there wasn't any wiring involved. It was as simple as swapping out the "normal" non-keyless alarm module with the keyless entry alarm module. [/QUOTE Wish it was the case...the service supervisor stated that all the wiring diagrams for every VW built was transferred to online and it's basically "classified"....
