I have installed a Viper 350hv alarm system in my 2002 dodge ram 1500 with no problems. I decided to buy the DEI 620V LED to install because it looked cool however after wiring I ran into a little problem. I connected the power input from the 350hv power wire before the fuse and tried after to the DEI 620V; the 350hv connects to the 12v red ignition wire. I connected the ground from the DEI 620V LED to the orange armed (-) output from the 350hv and I can hear a factory relay making clicking noises when the alarm is not armed. When the alarm is armed the noise goes away. I tried connecting the 1N4004 diode between the orange output wire and the (-) connection to the DEI 620V however the LED will not work at that point. Is there a resistor (size) I need to install prior to the power input to the DEI 620V or something?

If I ground the DEI 620v to the body for a ground the factory relays are fine thus getting 12v (+) from the red wire in the vehicle ignition harness and the Viper Electro-luminescent works fine. When I use the 1N4004 DIODE I spliced into the orange (-) armed output with a T-Tap connector and then from there connected the 1N4004 1amp 400v DIODE then the ground input from the DEI 620v. Am I suppose wire the diode different? Should I cut the orange (-) wire then connect the DIODE in between the starter relay and the control unit and after the wire out from the control unit prior to the DIODE connect my DEI 620v Viper Electro-luminescent Armed Indicator?
