I got a viper alarm system from a friend of mine who took it out of his car, and i want to put it in my car but i have never wired in an alarm before and don't know what they are talking about in the installation guide about the door locks and stuff. also, how do you program the alarm?

door locks are negative trigger going, i believe the 3002 has on board relays for the locks, just ground the violet wire, and use the blue/black, and GREEN/ black wires to connect to the vehicle's lock unlock triggers,

ok cool. i haven't looked yet, but i think my car might be wired for trunk release. i know there are wires coming from it, but i haven't looked at where they go yet. i'm pretty much just figuring things out still. i just took the gauge cluster out to look at wires

yes there are two, one would be your cold start wire (if your unit does not have remote start no need to worry about this), both will read the same, but only one will prevent the starter from turning, normally the thicker one, to verify when you cut the wire, make sure the car doesn't start, if it does you have the wrong wire,if it does'nt off you go.

also i'm out for the night, laters.
