i was wondering if i could get some help.  i added the trunk pop to my alarm a couple of weeks ago and it only works when it wants to. when i first installed it it was working and then the problem came. if i push the button to open my trunk sometimes it will pop and some time it won't as well as the sam problem with the button inside the car. if i ope n my trunk with the key and then close it the button on my remote and the button in the car will work for a short period of time. if i am in the car and i press the remote the trunk won't open but i will hear the relay clicking. i don't know if i need to rewire the trunk release or what but i would like to know if i could get some help. i have a 92 olds delta 88 with a hornet 553t alarm with remote start.

sounds like a mechnical problem with the solonoid to me, the linkage not hooked up right, or slipping.
Like you said you can heart it working, so it doen't sound like an electrical problem

Mine by design kept slipping off the dang wire cord. You CANNOT just tighten the nut (if you are using the same one I am thinking of). Because the part the nut tightens on is actually open and just just bends the tighter the nut is driven. I wedged something (i dont remember what) in the opening. Basically I slid the wire into the slot, screwed on the but loosely. Then wedged a piece of metal in the slot then tightened the nut more.
Good luck
