Noobie here, I'm looking for an alarm system for my 2005 Scion XB. I'm not as worried about somebody stealing my car as I'm worried about somebody breaking in and stealing my tools.
Somebody suggested the Scytek 777 but I'm not sure. I think I would also like voice. I definitely want to be notified in case of somebody breaking in. A remote starter would be nice but it's not a deal breaker.
I don't know anything about alarms so, any help would really be appreciated.

Go with a 2-way Alarm...Code...AutoPage are a good start...Never used scytek...Although really havent heard anything negative...With the Autopage, they have the C3 technology...Check out there website...There are some upgrades you can add...Like a proximity sensor, That would alert you,and set off warn-away chirps, If somebody reaches in the vehicle without disturbing the door trigger,or the shock sensor. Down side is that you might get some false alarms w/ this sensor...But will also get some falses w/ the included shock sensor...So w/ every step of security you add, it does increase your chances of keeping all of your tools...Now range is another factor here...How far away do you want the unit to respond...? Some can go up to a mile...But as range goes up...So does the price...

I would like to keep the price below $150. actually below $100. As far as range when they say a mile I'm assuming in the country on the right day. I would imagine that I should be no more than 2 or three city blocks from my car. 90% of the time within 200'
