Year: 2009
Make: Subaru
Model: Impreza WRX 5 Door Wagon
Installing a Viper 5701 with the XK02 BypassKit. This is a DIY installation that I'm doing myself. I have gathered all of the wiring documentation but I'm lacking knowledge of the integration of the XK02 module (flashed with the latest SUBDL v2.0 fw) and the Viper 5701.
I've seen some people that like D2D and some others that despise it. Here is where I'm at with my install and the issues I'm currently running into. If someone could take a moment and point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
Viper 5901 - +12vdc constant / ground / D2D (to XK02)
XK02 - Disarm & Data is wired up as specified by the manual & D2D (to 5701)
What I'm currently experiencing:
    Factory alarm still functions properly.
5701 can arm / disarm the factory alarm.
5701 can lock and unlock car doors properly.
5701 does *not* get door trigger signals when any door is opened. I disabled the factory alarm just to test and nothing changed.
If I use the 5701 to arm the factory there is a good chance the 5701 *AND* factory alarm will not receive any commands. It's in a frozen state, I have to manually unlock the door and the factory alarm will go off. Putting the ignition to the ON position halts the alarm.
I'm concerned to proceed with more wiring (remote start, etc) as the basic security functions are not functioning properly.
Questions:
Should I remove D2D and wire the XK02 into the 5701 directly?
Should my factory Subaru alarm be disabled?
Thanks!

Sorry, I wasn't clear on this part:
WRONG: If I use the 5701 to arm the factory there is a good chance the 5701 *AND* factory alarm will not receive any commands. It's in a frozen state, I have to manually unlock the door and the factory alarm will go off. Putting the ignition to the ON position halts the alarm.
CORRECT: If I use the 5701 to arm the factory alarm, there is a good chance when I come to disarm it later that neither the 5701 or factory alarm will respond. It could be a few hours or 24 hours later, but it will happen. Before that, it works fine to arm / disarm factory alarm and open / lock doors.
