Hi! Does anyone have an idea or encountered this error after installing a remote starter on a security system? My system is a Clifford Matrix 50.7x responder two-way on an 05 Nissan Xterra SE 4.0L 4WD.
I finished installing (connecting) everything but, when I try to activate the remote start I get an error beep on the 2-way remote commander: "remote start error" is the message. Followed by a 7 light flashes. Everything is fine except the remote start feature. Alarm activation by Zone and instant triggers are reporting well but, the RS:(
Should I connect the 5-pin RS aux outputs? Are these necessary for the remote start feature to work? I can't find anywhere (at least I think) to connect them. It says "optional" as I read on the installation manual an I need some relays if ever to connect the aux outputs.
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Put it into automatic transmission mode.... reading the manual helps.

Hi zerepdivad, I did that following the cheat sheet. But, still RS won't kick:( I even bought a bitwriter ver 2.7 to better go on the config of the menu features.
Did I miss something on the connection process of the wires? Hmmm... the only thing that comes into my mind now is the XK07 module being out of date with its firmware.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for taking the time to reply on my post. Having a certified installer's reply or from anybody is greatly appreciated!

when you put it into automatic mode, and tried to RS the car how many flashes of the lights did you get then??

I am not sure if these new cliffords are the same as the vipers, but did you hook the BLACK/ white neutral safety wire up to ground and plug in the neutral safety switch into the brain and switch it to ON??

@ 05gt, I get 7 parking light flashes prior to setting the Automatic transmission on Feature Menu 3; having said that, no more 7 flashes but still no RS:( And, yes I plugged the Neutral Safety Switch and set to ON. B/W netural wire connected with the rest of the groundings (one same location). There's a WHITE/ blue wire that says (-) RS activation output off of the H1 harness that's plugged into the H1 port of the module. I connected it to the rest of the grounding (this I am not sure where to go). Just tried it again to remotely start the vehicle still NADA!
Please don't get tired on shedding help on me guys.
Very truly yours,
Terabot

@ 05gt
I reset the XK07 to give it a fresh memory.
OK, I disconnected it H1/10 wire (WHITE/ blue) (-) Remote Start/Turbo Timer Activation Input. But, where will I connect it? Where do I need to use it?
Right now there's nothing connected to the XK07 (-)Brown Input wire [Ground when running (status) of the remote starter] = Activate Data Immobilizer Override. Where's this connected to?
I am reading the manual and I think I need to plug in the RS aux output 5-pin wires and look for it's connections.
Colors & Descriptions are as follows:
1) Pink/White (-) 200mA Flex Relay Control Output
*This wire is programmed as (-) 2nd ignition output from factory and can br programmed [to drive a relay] as a (-) starter or an accessory output.
2) Orange (-) 200mA Accessory Output
   * This wire works like the main accessory wire and van be used (with a relay) to drive any additional accessory circuits in the vehicle.
3) Violet (-) 200mA Starter Output
   * This wire works like the starter wire and can be used (with a relay) to drive any additional accessory circuits in the vehicle.
4) Pink (-) 200mA Ignition1 Output
   * This wire works like the ignition 1 wire and be used(with a relay) to drive any additional ignition circuits in the vehicle.
NOTE: Wires 1-4 on the remote start auxiliary outputs are wired to the (-) triggers for the onboard remote start relays and are not diode isolated. If connecting these wires directly to the vehicle you must place a 1-amp diode in line to prevent feedback from the vehicle.
5) Blue (-) 200mA Status Output
   * This wire supplies an output as soon as the module begins the remote start process. It can be used to activate a bypass module or power the key sense wire in most vehicles to disarm the factory alarm without unlocking.
Do I need the 5th Blue wire connected to the XK07 module (but, what wire?) or use it for key sense. I am not sure and can't find an answer as to what do I need for an 05 Nissan Xterra for this 5th blue wire.
I know I am sounding dumbly stupid here but, I believe this will help anybody in this community. Not to mention to hone the skills of those who already are good on installation by repetitive inputs.
I can't thank you ALL enough. But, still continue to help

you don't have to hook up the WHITE/ blue wire

use this one : connect that blue wire (status output) to the brown wire of the XK07, that will fix that issue, the car has 2 starter wires, did you hook up both? the new clifford and vipers main harness is a little confusing for a rookie installer

H3/1 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT  (connect this to ignition 1 in the car)

H3/2 RED / WHITE (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87  (connect this to 12 volts in the car)

H3/3 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT  (connect this to accessory 1 in the car)

H3/4 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)  (connect this to starter wire in the car)

H3/5 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL WIRE)  (don't use)

H3/6 RED (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT  (connect this to 12 volts in the car

H3/7 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT  (connect this wire to ignition 2 in the car)

H3/8 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY  (don't use)

H3/9 RED / BLACK (+) FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT  (connect this to 12 volts in the car)

H3/10 NC (no connection)

now you need to wire up a another relay for the second starter wire in the car, to do this follow the diagram below

pin 87 (12 volts), pin 85 (gets connected to the purple wire H3/4), pin 86 (needs to go to the blue/white from the clifford brain) and then program that wire for 2nd status, pin 30 (needs to got to the 2nd starter wire in the car)

see if you have all of this done and then reply back, maybe we can help some more

@05gt
I think this writeup of yours feels better.
But, for weird functional reason... my connections made me RS my X. But, what I noticed is that I get juiced-out (my battery) after I activate the RS thru the remote after 5ish mins??? It starts but, yeah, I get a drained batt:(
I will disconnect the H3/5=Heavy gauge Green wire from the main module that I connected to the (cut) Starter wire/Gray Heavy gauge wire (key-side) in the ignition harness. Resolder the starter wire/heavy gauge Gray wire together and retain the H3/4=Heavy gauge Violet wire to it.
I knew there's still a glitch (what do I expect) eventhough I can remotely start my X's engine with my current connections. But, ain't that weird? Or I may have found another way to make the RS work (hehe) but with a side effect because of my DIY connections. I will follow you; I believe this will be beneficial thanks for your writeup.
But, let me verify... There's no Ignition2 wire (at least I cannot find one) in the ignition harness and from the detailed wiring sheet for my 05 X. Or this "out-of-the-board" relay wiring you are telling me to do will be? I will report back here after I do these new connections.
Thanks!
