Hi all,

I am having a hard time figuring out the install of a viper 5101 in a 2005 GMC Envoy. I also have the XK06-PKG7 bypass. I am planning on connecting the XK06 via the D2D interface. I am looking for help on which wires need to be connected and which ones don't. I am very disappointed in the information viper has on this install. I do understand it is made for all cars on the market, but not a lot of additional help for the DIYer. Anyway... I would like to use the starter, door locks, and factory alarming with this, and maybe the rear defroster. I have installed some of the wiring, but did not connect the controll unit yet, untill I get some questions answered. I guess lets start at the beginning: ( Note: All of my comments are started with *** in bold italic)

H1 12 pin connector:

H1-1 RED / WHITE Trunk release  ***N/A IN ENVOY

H1-2 RED 12v constant RED IGN HARNESS  ***WIRED TO 12V CONSTANT

5 BLUE (-) 200mA STATUS OUTPUT***DID NOT CONNECT YET??? DOES THIS GO TO BROWN OF THE XK06???

DOOR LOCK 3 PIN CONNECTOR:

NOW FOR THE XRESSKIT MODEL: XK06-PKG7

***ALL OTHER CONNECTIONS ON THIS DIAGRAM ARE LABLED W2W, SO I AM ASSUMING I DON'T NEED TO WIRE THESE SINCE I AM USING D2D

This viper kit came with a relay and resistors, but I don't think I have to use this with the XK06 connected. If anyone has any info for me please let me know. you can reach me at rickyk@nep.net with any other info you don't want to post on here.

Thanks,

Rick

OK I ordered the XK-01. According to Directed this will work out of the box.

I have setup a spread sheet with connections. Would someone be able to tell me if this is correct and maybe help me out with what I have wrong. Thanks

assuming you are using the D2D cable the XK01 will do bypass and doorlocks with only one wire needing to be connected (plus the D2D cable)  Violet from the module goes to violet at the OBD connector.... programm the module for the correct platform and off you go... quick and easy....

you still need to hook up the R/S wires (brake, parklights, IGN wires, etc etc)
