A few issues I've got going with my Remote Install.  I decided to tackle this myself and am second guessing myself.  I am installing  a Viper 5301 into a Chevy Equinox 2005.  I have all the wires run as per directions on researched 12 Volt forums but when I got to use the remote start the viper box clicks and clacks but does not engage the starter.  When I turn the key forward to "on" and try the remote start, the windsheild wipers turn on twice when I remote start engage and do nothing when I disengage the remote start.  (I turned off the virtual tach so the viper box isn't looking for it)

Also when I start the vehicle with the key, the windshield wipers turn on and will not turn off.  I was reading in one forum that the light green keysense wire is required.  I was under the assumption that this wire is not required if you have an immobilizer.  The immobilizer I have is the directed 555L.  If the keysense wire is required to the viper box what would I hook it up to, or does this go to the immobilizer somehow?

Thanks in advance!

If the keysense wire doesn't see a ground the whole time during remote start, there's a little picture of a wrench that lights up on the dashboard.
However, that's it. The remote start would still work, and no problems with the wipers.
--Did you get all of your ignition and accessory wires at the heavy, thick wires coming out of the ignition switch?
--Where did you get parking lights? Maybe you tied your parking light wire into a wiper wire in the harness coming down the left side of the steering column?
Regardless of all that, your Viper has a small, long, blue/white wire, and also another plug with a small blue wire that's only a few inches long.
As long as you don't change anything in programming, both of these wires make a ground the whole time the remote starter's on.
One of these wires should be going to the light green keysense wire in the car. The other wire should be going to the ground-when-running input (is it blue or blue/black? I always forget) on the 555L.

Hey thanks alot.  I did not have the blue/whit wire connected to anything.  Let you know the results.
